At the All Out 2022 pay-per-view event, MJF made his comeback to All Elite Wrestling television by being revealed as the joker in the Casino Ladder match. He had been absent for a while after his infamous promo in which he requested that AEW President Tony Khan fire him.
The top AEW wrestler said this past week during an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour that he is now making “a stupid amount of money” with AEW but is doing it without signing a contract extension.
According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, MJF receives more than $1 million annually now.
MJF inked a contract with AEW in 2019, but over the past few months, he’s become upset with how he’s risen up the card and outperformed his original deal. His current AEW contract is still scheduled to end in January 2024.
Between having interest in him from both AEW and WWE, he has referred to this as “The Bidding War of 2024.” Additionally, MJF has said in interviews that he will join any promotion that offers the highest amount of money.
