Ring of Honor will be going on hiatus in the first quarter of 2022 and the talent were notified of this late last month. Many of them will be free of their contracts on January 1st, 2022.
According to company officials, the plan is for the promotion to return in April with their “Supercard of Honor” event but many have their doubts that this will actually be happening. The talent were told about the hiatus on their weekly company-wide Zoom call.
According to a report from Fightful, some of the talents were told about the news ahead of the call and noted that it “didn’t sound good.” Also, there was a lot of talent who are not contracted regulars who were not on the call. Those talents didn’t find out about the news until it was publicly announced.
According to reports, there is varying information about the mood at the most recent tapings. Some talents claim there was a lot of somberness and people were exchanging information on places to get booked in the future. Many talents were also said to have been planning farewells.
