As seen during last Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Chelsea Green made her debut in a fatal 4-way match. During the match, she suffered a broken wrist and underwent surgery later that night. According to a report from Wrestling Observer Radio, there were several last-minute changes to SmackDown and Green’s match was affected.

The match was originally intended to be a three-way between Liv Morgan, Natalya and Tamina Snuka. The match would have seen Morgan picking up the win. Vince McMahon “tore up the script” on Thursday night/Friday morning and the show was largely re-written. Prior to that happening, someone told McMahon that Green was ready to debut, so the match was made into a four-way. Green was actually set to win and go on to WWE Survivor Series. When she was injured, WWE called an audible and went back to their original plan of Morgan winning.

The script for WWE SmackDown wasn’t finalized until an hour before the show went live on FOX. Sami Zayn’s promo where he said he found out he was defending against Apollo Crews on an hour’s notice was an accurate statement.
