Backstage News On Pat McAfee Signing Extension With WWE

As previously reported here on eWn, WWE announced today that Pat McAfee has signed a multi-year deal with the company.

WrestleVotes noted that McAfee signed the extension a few weeks ago, and those involved were thrilled about it.

“I’m told the Pat McAfee extension was signed a few weeks back, to the thrill of everyone involved. WWE knows exactly what they have in McAfee and were steadfast on making sure they kept him around. Good job on them.”

McAfee joined WWE full-time in April 2021 as the color commentator for SmackDown. Michael Cole, who calls the show with McAfee, reacted to the news with this tweet:

“After 25 years in “the booth,” working with @PatMcAfeeShow is the highlight of each week. His excitement is contagious (even if he almost kicks me when standing on our table) and has helped revitalize my love for our business! @WWE, our fans, and I are lucky to have him!”

McAfee will wrestle Happy Corbin at SummerSlam later this month.
