As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite from Estero, FL at the Hertz Arena, Scorpio Sky beat Sammy Guevara to win the TNT Title.
Fightful Select reported today that the title win had been planned as far back as late 2021. Cody Rhodes’ departure caused a “minimal” hiccup in AEW’s plans, but a lot of what happened still went as planned.
When Miro was still AEW TNT Champion, AEW planned to have Guevara win the title then lose it to Cody and then win it back, but Rhodes being unable to make his scheduled title defense delayed that by a week.
