As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Raleigh, NC at the PNC Arena on the USA Network, the main event saw a three-way match between WWE Champion Big E, Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The match was booked after Lashley ran in and forced a DQ during The Bloodline vs. New Day match.
Dave Meltzer noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that the change was made based on good reviews of their triple threat over the weekend at house shows.
Also, Vince McMahon decided mid-day on Monday that this would be a bigger match than the six-man tag team match and thus would draw stronger ratings.
