UPDATE: Fightful Select has confirmed that Thunder Rosa was kept off Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite TV tapings because she was dealing with an illness.

Rosa was originally booked for a backstage segment on Dynamite and was not planned to appear live on the show. She will also not be appearing on tonight’s live episode of AEW Rampage due to the same illness.

It should be noted that several sources have confirmed there is some frustration from Rosa, who reportedly feels that the AEW Women’s Championship has “taken a backseat” to the TBS Championship and ROH Women’s Championship.

As of this writing, Rosa has not commented on the reports.

ORIGINAL: As we reported earlier this week here on eWn, AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa was noticeably absent from Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite TV tapings. Earlier reports noted that she was not feeling well and was sent home by AEW’s doctor.

A report from WhatCulture indicated that Rosa was “upset” about not having a segment on the show. Additionally, the WhatCulure report claimed that Rosa was said to be upset that she was unable to plug her fundraiser for the Uvalde, Texas shooting victims during the post-AEW Double or Nothing media scrum, which she did not participate in. The report also suggested that she has been unhappy with how little she has been featured on AEW television since winning the title, including how little her match with Serena Deeb was covered on Dynamite. Rosa reportedly felt like AEW made it seem like that match “didn’t happen at all” on Dynamite. While the report said she was “upset and confused”, it never got to the point where she was going to walk out.

It should be noted that the Wrestling Observer Newsletter says this is not the case and there was a segment planned for Thunder Rosa on the show, but it was simply scrapped because Rosa was sick and sent home. Rosa also had several friends who were backstage with her at AEW Dynamite who were ill and they went home as well.

You can contribute to Rosa’s fundraiser by clicking here. All of the proceeds will go to the victims of the shooting at Robb Elementary School.
