According to a report from this week’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the decision was made to put the Shayna Baszler vs. Bayley vs. Becky Lynch match on last at Survivor Series with the hope of building up Baszler for next year. The post-match table spots were planned to build Baszler up to face Lynch. The original plan was for Baszler to move up to the main roster in 2020.

As seen during the pay-per-view event, the match did not “click” as well as expected. It should be noted that the match was heavily worked on and practiced during the day.

Vince McMahon was reportedly “really mad” as the match was going on. According to several people, the story going around is that McMahon was so angry that he was informing the referee of high spots for the Superstars to perform as the match was still ongoing.

Additional sources within WWE claim that McMahon was “extremely angry” and he had every right to be angry over the way the match went but they denied the claims that he was telling the referee to call spots.

Baszler won the match via submission.
