Backstage News On When WWE Superstars Learned They Would Be Changing Brands In The Draft

When did WWE Superstars that were traded in night one of the 2021 WWE Draft first learn that they were switching brands?

According to a report from Pwinsider, the talents that moved brands were only told of the plans shortly before the announcements were actually made.

This was done to avoid any of them being caught off guard.

As seen on Friday night’s WWE SmackDown on FOX show, Bianca Belair, Edge, Rey and Dominik Mysterio moved from SmackDown to RAW, while Austin Theory is moving from NXT to RAW.

Additionally, Charlotte Flair, Drew McIntyre, The New Day, and Jeff Hardy are moving from RAW to SmackDown, while Hit Row (Top Dolla, Swerve Scott, B-Fab, Ashante Thee Adonis) are moving from NXT to SmackDown.

For those unaware, the roster changes for the aforementioned WWE Superstars do not officially take affect until October 22, 2021.

In related news, Brock Lesnar’s promo on SmackDown was taped in advance. “The Beast Incarnate” reportedly left the arena soon after his in-ring segment with Roman Reigns ended.

While the belief is that he will appear again on Monday Night RAW next week, that is strictly a rumor at this point.

Finally, in the pre-show dark match held prior to the start of Friday night’s WWE SmackDown TV tapings, Top Dolla defeated Cedric Alexander in one-on-one action.
