As seen during last night’s WWE Fastlane pay-per-view event, the RETRIBUTION faction appeared to have split up after RECKONING and SLAPJACK walked out after Ali was ranting about his loss to Riddle. MACE and T-BAR then hit a double chokeslam on him and walked out themselves.
According to a report from Wrestling Inc, WWE’s original plan was to split the group up at WrestleMania 37. For those unaware, Ali tore his PCL against Ricochet on the December 28th episode of RAW and has been working through the injury. While Ali chose to continue working, his leg locked up during the Royal Rumble. Ali would then go on to have an MRI done and it was revealed that he would need to undergo surgery/rehab. Someone pitched an idea that if Ali was willing to work through the injury, there would be a big blow-off with the group at WrestleMania. WWE eventually changed course and did the split last night at Fastlane instead.
