According to sources, there continues to be a lot of talk within WWE regarding the possibility of Ronda Rousey signing with WWE. As we’ve been reporting here on eWrestlingNews.com, Rousey has been spotted training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL in recent months. The feeling is that her debuting and winning the first all-women’s WWE Royal Rumble Match will add tons of mainstream media coverage. If this were to occur, she would go on to WrestleMania 34 and wrestle for the women’s title, likely against Asuka (she would win the title from Alexa Bliss in the months leading into WrestleMania 34). A Ronda Rousey debut during the all-women’s Royal Rumble match would also “protect her” as there would be a lot going on and many women in the ring who can carry the action.

For what it’s worth, Rousey’s friends and MMA horsewomen members Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir are no longer training at the WWE Performance Center. That likely means the original Four Horsewoman vs. Four Horsewoman idea for Rousey’s debut will not take place. Shayna Baszler is being pushed as a major debut in NXT.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter “Rousey has been training for a long enough period of time that she’s got to be a lock for WrestleMania this year,” unless something unforeseen happens or some type of entertainment offer comes up to delay it. With Asuka’s current unbeaten streak and using the arm bar as her finisher, many feel Rousey will be facing Asuka in her first feud. Asuka is considered one of the best workers in the company. There is also the idea for Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair, as that match has the most mainstream marquee value.
