As the fallout to Anthem’s decision to “play hardball” over their contracts and pay for talent continues, there are a number of people who believe more departures are on the way. In recent weeks, TNA officials have contacted a bunch of their talent and are trying to lock them into new deals. If the talents who have been contacted don’t come to terms quickly, they will likely be gone from the company. We previously reported that Anthem is trying to lock talent into contracts and are releasing them if they don’t agree to the new way they pay talent. The company is now paying talent per date instead of per episode. So, if TNA tapes three episodes of TV at one taping, talent will only be paid for working the one taping date. Previously, talent would be paid for each episode (three checks instead of one). This obviously has many talents upset as it’s a big pay cut.
As of now, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Reby Hardy, Drew Galloway, Mike Bennett, Maria Kanellis, and Jade are all gone from TNA iMPACT! Wrestling. With that being said, Lashley, Moose, EC3, Eddie Edwards, Davey Richards and Eli Drake have all re-signed with the company.
