As previously reported here on eWrestlingNews.com, the “Red Wedding” Knockouts match featuring Taya Valkyrie vs. Rosemary has been pulled from tonight’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view card. According to reports, Valkyrie was born in Canada and would have no issues getting into the country but she could have an issue getting back into the United States.
For those unaware, Valkyrie is married to John “John Morrison” Hennigan but the process to make her a permanent resident of the United States wasn’t completed by this weekend. There was some concern that due to the current Presidential administration, her return could be complicated and that is why iMPACT! Wrestling decided to pull her from the pay-per-view event.
For what it’s worth, there was a similar situation between Michael Elgin and Ring of Honor. That issue took several weeks to settle. Elgin was stopped from returning to the United States from Canada even though he was married to a US citizen and had been living here.
It should be noted that there is no “backstage heat” on Taya and there are still plans to use her at iMPACT! Wrestling’s TV tapings in January of 2018.
