Backstage Note On Impact Wrestling Reverting Back To TNA, Six-Sided Ring

It was announced at Saturday’s Bound For Glory 2023 pay-per-view event that Impact Wrestling will officially return to the old TNA Wrestling branding at Hard to Kill in January 2024.

Pwinsider has shared additional details on the reason behind Impact Wrestling switching back to the TNA Wrestling name including a few other tidbits.

The name change is reportedly a method of bringing the company’s fractious history together between NWA-TNA, TNA Impact, and even GFW. The international partners prefer the TNA name, and the Anthem-owned promotion quietly polled its fans who preferred the old name as well.

The name change was originally planned for Slammiversary 2023, but it was later postponed to Bound For Glory 2023 and the final decision was made about two to three weeks back.

The storylines, talent, and current style will continue under the TNA rebranding.

New title belts have already been designed and will be unveiled once the name change goes into effect in January.

Impact Wrestling executives are “over the moon” regarding the positive reception to the news.

As we reported last night here on eWn, the six-sided ring won’t be returning and there was not even a discussion about that possibility.

Almost every wrestler on the current roster who worked with the six-sided ring said it was harder on their bodies than the usual four-sided ring.
