At the conclusion of Saturday night’s Impact Wrestling “No Surrender” event, it was revealed that NJPW’s Juice Robinson and David Finlay will be coming to Impact shortly. According to a report from Pwinsider, the word is that Impact inked a deal with NJPW for a talent exchange/working relationship shortly before AEW’s deal, which ultimately led to KENTA making his appearance(s) on AEW Dynamite recently.
The original plans were for Juice Robinson and David Finlay to debut at the last set of Impact tapings but those plans were changed for them to appear at No Surrender instead.
This deal between Impact and NJPW is the result of many months of back and forth talks, repairing damage that had been done between the two promotions over their strained past. Scott D’Amore and other Impact executives flew to Japan to discuss the deal and formally apologize on behalf of Impact Wrestling for any and all past issues between the two organizations from the previous owners. NJPW has expressed interest in bringing The Good Brothers back to NJPW at some point in the future. With Robinson and Finlay making their presence felt at Impact, this may very well be the beginning of a new era for Impact Wrestling.
