According to a report from Pwinsider, we have some additional notes and details coming out of last night’s WrestleMania 37 (Night One) spectacular. Unfortunately, due to mother nature playing her hand and causing a rain delay for the first 30 minutes or so, this meant WWE had to stall for time and quickly started to film promos to kill time. The wrestlers who cut promos, such as Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, The Miz, John Morrison, Kevin Owens, etc. had to ad-lib and roll with the punches without any written dialogue or script. WWE producers were frantically searching for anyone who they knew could cut a good promo.
During the main event featuring Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair, the vast majority of the women’s locker room came out to the stadium floor to watch the match. Both Banks and Belair were very happy and pleased with how their match came out and were said to be in an ecstatic mood backstage after it was over.
The backstage area had heavy security, mostly due to the COVID-19 protocols in place. As such, no family members or friends of WWE staff were allowed backstage during the event.
As you may know, WWE WrestleMania 37 continues later tonight with Night 2. The show will be broadcast live starting at 8:00 pm EST on Peacock in the US and the WWE Network everywhere else. The Kickoff pre-show will start at 7:00 pm EST.
