Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is not expected to be leaving the promotion anytime soon despite seemingly teasing a hiatus at a recent live event.
At a WWE live event in Trenton, New Jersey last night, Reigns spoke about competing in the city, but teased leaving WWE, saying he doesn’t know if he’ll ever be back to wrestle in the city again.
In an update from Fightful, one source backstage in WWE says that Reigns is still heavily figured into creative plans for “the foreseeable future.”
Producers, staff, and higher-ups said they have not been informed of Reigns taking any time off.
Another source added that Reigns has been “accommodated and incentivized” to keep WWE as a top priority.
Reigns will team with The Usos tonight to face RK Bro and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania: Backlash.
