Following his departure from New Japan Pro Wrestling, Davey Boy Smith Jr. (DH Smith in WWE) received offers from both All Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH. As previously reported here on eWn, he is currently under contract to MLW.
AEW is said to be interested in him as well. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is said to be very high on him and AEW have used MLW talent in the past like Jimmy Havoc and MJF. Most people are expecting that both men will be leaving MLW when their contracts expire. As long as Smith is getting pushed in AEW, the MLW promotion would likely be fine with that. But if he’s going to be in the MLW title picture, they wouldn’t want him working there as “just a guy.” The same goes for MJF but he’s being pushed right now as a top heel in the company.
