As we reported earlier this week here on eWrestlingNews.com, WWE will be returning to dual RAW and SmackDown! Live brand pay-per-view events starting with the Backlash pay-per-view event. There is some speculation that many lower and mid card talent could be “on the outside looking in” as they will not be used on most pay-per-view events. The dual brand PPVs mean fewer spots will be available on cards. There is also talk that a lot of talent will get much less focus on TV since they won’t be building to pay-per-view caliber matches.
As seen over the past year or so, WWE has called up a lot of new talent to the main roster. When the company put the brand split in place, they were in need of more talent to fill the seperate RAW and SmackDown! Live branded PPVs. Along with the speculation of less talent being pushed, there is some fear that a good amount of releases could be coming following the WrestleMania 34 pay-per-view event.
