According to sources, the split between Rockstar Spud and iMPACT! Wrestling was due to a “paperwork error” on the company’s part. Sports Illustrated is reporting that the company failed to properly fill out the paperwork for his visa.
SI says the failure to fill out that paperwork took place during the Dixie Carter era. Because the paperwork had not been filled out properly, Spud could not re-enter the United States and also couldn’t work any iMPACT! Wrestling shows. This would have led to him not being paid, thus the decision was made to just release him.
As reported yesterday, WWE is reportedly interested in signing Rockstar Spud for their “205 Live” roster.
