According to reports, WWE may be changing their plans for Brock Lesnar’s opponent at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event. Original plans reportedly called for Lesnar to face Finn Balor at the show. According to a rumor from Cageside Seats, those plans may be changing. The site reports that Balor losing to Kane on Monday’s WWE RAW broadcast is being looked at by some as a sign that WWE is “cooling on the idea” of Balor as they would theoretically want to build him up to look as strong as possible prior to a match with Lesnar.

As previously reported here on eWn, there was some “eye-rolling” backstage at RAW over Vince McMahon’s decision to have Kane defeat Balor.

It should be noted that none of this is confirmed and is simply a rumor from the Cageside Seats website. There is still lots of time to build Balor up prior to the Royal Rumble so take this with a grain of salt for now.

WWE’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, January 28th, 2018 in Philadelphia, PA.
