UPDATE: We reported last week here on eWrestlingNews.com that four referees had departed from iMPACT! Wrestling (see below).

In an update on their releases, there was talk backstage that the referees were offered paydays that were “greatly reduced” compared to what they usually get. According to sources, when the Hebners both requested their releases, the others followed suit.

There are rumors that iMPACT! Wrestling reached out to former WWE referee Jack Doan to work Bound for Glory, but there is no word on if he’s accepted the offer as of this writing. We’ll see tonight!

ORIGINAL: According to a report from ProWrestlingSheet.com, another referee has departed from iMPACT! Wrestling. Earl Hebner has reportedly left the company.

Hebner reportedly finished with iMPACT! Wrestling this week. Hebner left the company due to the same reason referees Robert King, Brian Stiffler and Hebner’s son Brian did. As previously reported here on eWrestlingNews.com, the four refs were informed that the company was planning to use local referees for Sunday’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view and next week’s iMPACT! Wrestling TV tapings in Ottawa. These tapings will take iMPACT! Wrestling through the rest of 2017. As you’d expect, none of them were happy with the decision and didn’t feel that the company was showing “loyalty” to them. According to previous reports, Hebner was going to be the only referee who was going to remain under contract.

Hebner was a WWE referee for many years before joining iMPACT! Wrestling in 2006. He was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame in 2015.

In recent weeks, Brian Hebner, Marshe Rockett, MJ Jenkins, Taryn Terrell, Madison Rayne, Reno Scum, Rockstar Spud, Low Ki, Eddie Kingston and Jeff Jarrett have all departed from iMPACT! Wrestling.
