As seen during last week’s episode of AEW Rampage, Chavo Guerrero was in the corner of Andrade El Idolo and helped him defeat PAC. Following the match, Andrade turned on Chavo because he said he didn’t need any help. This led to an attack by both Andrade and the Lucha Brothers.
According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the storyline was done to write Chavo off of AEW television. Guerrero is currently working as the wrestling coordinator for Young Rock, which airs on NBC and is in the middle of filming its second season.
AEW President Tony Khan had an agreement with Chavo Guerrero for him work with Andrade through the AEW All Out pay-per-view event. After the show, the plan was always to blow off Chavo’s character. With that being said, Chavo is expected to return to the company once filming for Young Rock wraps up.
