As we reported earlier today here on eWn, WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon took to Twitter and announced that she’d be taking a leave of absence from the company starting tomorrow. In her statement, Stephanie said she would be taking a leave of absence from the “majority of [her] responsibilities at WWE.”

According to a report from Pwinsider, the word making the rounds is that McMahon is in fact taking time off to focus on her family. While it remains to be seen when, she is expected to return to the company in the future.

While she’s away, someone will need to step up to fill her role as Chief Brand Officer of WWE. As of this writing, there is no word on who that might be.

For those unaware, McMahon and Triple H were married in 2003 and have three daughters Aurora (15), Murphy (13) and Vaughn (11) together. Triple H suffered a cardiac incident back in September of 2021 and took several months off. “The Game” was in attendance at several events during WrestleMania 38 weekend in Dallas, Texas last month. That was the first time anyone had seen him since he was hospitalized.

It should be noted that “no one but the most inner circle” knew that McMahon’s leave of absence was coming. Pretty much everyone in the company was said to have been “shocked” by the news when she announced it earlier today.

Finally, Fightful is reporting that there had been some “rumblings” that McMahon has been less involved with WWE as of late. One WWE representative noted that Stephanie is still “a part of the WWE family” and noted that any rumors that she was pushed out of the position are untrue.

Stay tuned as we hear more.
