We reported last night here on eWn that AEW has released Jimmy Havoc, Bea Priestley and Sadie Gibbs.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Gibbs and Priestley were only working part-time for the company and both of them can’t get into the United States right now due to travel restrictions. The releases were finalized on Wednesday. AEW recently signed Eddie Kingston, Ricky Starks and others so that also likely contributed to the decision.
While Tony Khan said he’d rather not release anyone during the pandemic, he did note that there would likely come a time where they would have to make some cuts if their talent were stuck in other countries.
Havoc is currently dealing with substance abuse issues as well as allegations made against him during the #SpeakingOut movement. He was originally suspended but his contract has now been terminated.
