Backstage Update On The Possibility Of A Women’s Tag-Team Championship

UPDATE: As previously reported here on, WWE will be holding an all-women’s pay-per-view event, titled “Evolution”, which will take place at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY on Sunday, October 28th. The event will feature a RAW Women’s title defense, SmackDown! Women’s title defense, NXT Women’s title defense and the finals of the Mae Young Classic. The show will also feature women from the “past and present”, which means you can expect to see several returning names.

As we reported on Monday afternoon, most of the women’s roster (both RAW & SmackDown! Live brands) were present during Monday’s WWE RAW broadcast.

It should also be noted that as of Monday afternoon, there was still an internal debate about adding a Women’s Tag-Team Championship division. It’s still very possible that could happen and a tournament to crown the first-ever champions would take place at this all-women’s pay-per-view event.

Stay tuned as we hear more.
