Backstage Update on the Recent Goldberg/Dolph Ziggler “Altercation”

As noted earlier this week here on eWn, Goldberg and Dolph Ziggler were involved in a very scripted-looking “altercation” at the Andiamo Italian Steakhouse in Las Vegas, NV. There were some reports noting that this was going to lead to Goldberg’s return to WWE TV.

Goldberg’s team took a video of the altercation and he posted it on Instagram. Several UFC fighters, including Roy Nelson, separated the two while smiling. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are no plans for Goldberg to continue feuding with Ziggler on WWE TV. The belief within the company is that the match has been done and there’s no point in doing it again.

As previously reported, Paul Heyman has envisioned Goldberg’s role in WWE as an occasional character who comes in and destroys people, similar to what Bruno Sammartino used to do. Some believe Goldberg is too old for that, though.
