Despite losing in his bid to capture the NXT Championship on Tuesday night, the Bron Breakker era could still very well be upon us.
Heading into Tuesday night’s NXT Halloween Havoc special event, there was a lot of talk making the rounds that the show was to serve as the launch for Breakker in a top spot on the brand.
With the show having come-and-gone and Breakker ending up coming up short in his loss to Tommaso Ciampa, there has been talk that the aforementioned rumor was just that — strictly a rumor.
In an update, @WrestleVotes is reporting that they never stated that the title would change hands, rather that the show would serve as the start of Breakker’s run as a top performer in NXT.
According to the update, those plans are still very much in place despite him losing to Ciampa at Halloween Havoc.
While there was talk at one point in having Breakker go over against Ciampa, and win the title, ultimately they decided not to pull the trigger on such a move just yet.
Guys, NEVER said Breakker was winning. This was the first part of him being THE GUY going forward. At one point it was discussed to give him the title tonight, but obviously they chose otherwise. Probably a good idea in the long run.
