According to sources, Rey Mysterio’s return to WWE as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble match was put together “within the past week” and was largely kept a secret within the company.
As of now, Mysterio’s appearance was a “one-shot” deal and he has not signed a new WWE deal. With that being said, the huge reaction he received will certainly help him get another offer. iMPACT! Wrestling is also still interested in him and the two have had talks in recent weeks so it’ll be interesting to see where this one goes.
