In an update on Prince “Ricochet” Puma”, he may be headed to WWE after all. As previously reported here on eWrestlingNews.com, he recently finished up his commitments with Lucha Underground at the last set of TV tapings, which finished out season three. There are reports that he will be taking a WWE offer rather than re-signing with Lucha Underground for season four, if there is one. Lucha Underground offered him a “huge” deal that he’s reportedly turning down in favor of signing with WWE.
As noted, Ricochet was offered a big deal by Lucha Underground but will be taking the WWE deal instead. He will be working for New Japan through the end of the year and would be able to appear for WWE early next year. As previously noted here on eWN, the standard Lucha Underground contract bans talent from working for any other televised promotions for six months after the last episode they appear on airs and season three won’t kick off until the summer. With that being said, it is believed that he won’t be able to work for WWE sooner than that. Of course, it is possible that he may be able to find a loophole through the fact that he wouldn’t go to WWE as a masked wrestler, preventing marketing concerns.
Ricochet will continue to accept indy bookings but the companies can’t have TV deals as he’ll be unable to appear on their shows.
