Backstage News on WWE Focusing More on Tag Teams, The Hardy Boyz’s WWE Contracts

It looks like WWE will finally address the current situation in their tag team division. Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE officials are planning on reviving the division. WWE tag teams have been told they will soon be receiving a big push. This appears to be a counter to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), who will be putting a big emphasis on tag team wrestling.

Also, The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) has reportedly been told that they’ll be the face of the division. The pair asked for their release recently after their match on an episode of Monday Night RAW. They’re under contract with WWE until April of 2020. WWE won’t be granting releases very easily given AEW is now in the mix. On this week’s RAW, WWE teased a possible reunion between Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. They’ll need as much help at Tag Team as they can get.

The Authors Of Pain will be out-of-action for several months due to Akam suffering a leg injury. As for Matt and Jeff Hardy, their contracts with WWE will expire during WrestleMania 35 season. However, there’s a feeling the two will stay on for one more year. In 2017, the brothers signed a two-year deal with WWE with a third-year option. WWE will likely pick up the option, which will include a significant pay raise for Matt and Jeff.
