Thanks to Ranjit Chahal of WrestlingRevealed.com for his help with some of the following newsbits:

— While attending Ward Melville High School, Mick Foley had a famous classmate, who would some day go on to star in his own television show and a handful of movies. The two of them were also team mates on the wrestling team. That celebrity is none other than Kevin James, who was the lead actor in “King of Queens” and starred in Hitch with Will Smith.

— While he hasn’t officially announced his retirement from the sport, it appears that Batista could be done with mixed martial arts (MMA). The former WWE star won his MMA debut match back in October. He’s still doing some training, but it’s not nearly as extensive as it used to be. He’s also gaining steam in Hollywood, so it’s made it easy to transition away from professional fighting.

— Kofi Kingston cut a promo on WWE Main Event last night, where he talked about having a rough year. He then talked about his wife and newborn son. The promo got the attention of fellow star Alex Riley, who took to Twitter to let the audience know that he thinks that Kingston is world champion material. Riley tweeted:

“@TrueKofi ‘s promo tonight the purest thing have ever seen on @wwe programming #real put a world title on this man #greatchampionbetterman. Loved that he talked a out his son #real strength #pure heart, and world champion material @TrueKofi”
