A report recently surfaced regarding an incident that took place between Chris Jericho and MVP at a hotel in Houston, Texas last month.

While the original story had been going around for several weeks, both MVP and Chris Jericho have since confirmed the altercation.

According to a report from Fightful, the story was making the rounds during AEW Double or Nothing weekend in Las Vegas, NV. With that being said, there were only a select few people who actually witnessed the incident first-hand.

Those close to the situation say that MVP and Chris Jericho have major heat these days due to “social and political” issues.

When MVP was asked about the incident, he said “there was an exchange, but it didn’t go down like that” and wanted to make it clear that there are “two sides to every story.” MVP also confirmed that the two men are no longer friends and haven’t been for quite some time.

Additionally, it was said that MVP was visiting with several of his friends at the talent hotel when Chris Jericho showed up in the lobby area. At that point, MVP approached him and wanted to talk about their issues. One source said MVP invited Jericho to go outside to “handle their problems.” Instead, Chris Jericho got into an elevator, and when the doors were closing, he screamed that he “doesn’t fight jobbers.”

When asked about the incident, Chris Jericho told Fightful the following, “Nothing else to say. I don’t fight jobbers. Nuff said.”

While the two men had very public disagreements on Twitter back in 2021, there were also private messages that were exchanged between them and they reportedly became heated.

One source within WWE claimed that someone in AEW called WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis to let him know about the incident. The source in WWE claimed Laurinaitis “didn’t seem to care” when he was informed of what went down. As of this writing, there is no word on if the phone call actually took place but that’s what WWE sources are saying.
