Blue Demon and Arturo ‘Rudo’ Rivero have been inducted into the AAA Hall of Fame as part of the recent TripleMania XXX event.
During the event, AAA (and formerly WWE) commentator Hugo Savinovich revealed the news about Blue Demon’s and Rivero’s inductions.
Rivera was inducted by his family whilst Demon’s induction took place with his son, former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Blue Demon Jr.
Blue Demon was a two-time NWA Welterweight Champion and won a total of twelve Luchas de Apuestas, one of the few wrestlers to be undefeated.
Not just a wrestler, Demon was a prolific actor, starring in 25 movies in total, of which nine included fellow wrestling legend El Santo.
Sadly, Blue Demon passed away in December 2000 after suffering a heart attack on the way home from working out. He was 78.
Rivera began his career as a narrator with CMLL but then joined AAA as a part of the broadcast team, and is considered by many to be the voice of AAA.
Outside of wrestling, Rivero provided commentary for the 1986 and 1994 editions of the FIFA World Cup for the Mexican Broadcast network Televisa.
