WWE ended up releasing Bray Wyatt on Saturday. Wyatt was reportedly released due to budget cuts and informed by Head of Relations John Laurantis about the decision.
Wyatt has not been seen on WWE television since losing to Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37. It was reported last month that there was still no timetable for his return and those in the company had remained quiet about Wyatt’s circumstances beyond the idea that he was being held off for a specific reason.
Dave Meltzer reported on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that Wyatt had just been medically cleared to return to in-ring action and was advertised for WWE shows later this month. However, due to Wyatt’s big-money contract, he was let go.
