WWE had promised that SummerSlam would be a night full of surprises and, love em’ or hate em’, the company delivered. At the conclusion of Saturday night’s main event, which saw Roman Reigns successfully defending the Universal Championship over John Cena, we saw the return of Brock Lesnar. Lesnar has not been seen on WWE television in well over a year since losing to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36 in April 2020.
Lesnar came down to ringside and confronted both Reigns and Paul Heyman. Heyman looked like he had seen a ghost, as he saw his former advocate staring down Reigns as both Reigns and Heyman cowardly exited the ring, as Lesnar stood tall in the ring to close out SummerSlam.
