Tragic news to report this evening as it appears that Jamin Pugh, known to wrestling fans as Jay Briscoe, has passed away. He was just 38 years old.
Numerous personalities from the pro wrestling world are reacting to the sudden loss. Preliminary reports are that Jay was involved in a car accident in Laurel, Delaware. You can see reactions from the wrestling community below.
Jay was a decorated pro wrestler throughout his career. He won the ROH World Championship twice, and he captured ROH tag team gold alongside his brother Mark thirteen times. The Briscoes were named Tag Team of the Decade by Ring of Honor for the 2010s. They were also the 2021 Tag Team of the Year. In March of 2022, The Briscoes were nominated to the Ring of Honor Hall of Fame.

Jay was one of a kind.
I traveled often with Jay and Mark. We couldn't have been more different but that's what made our friendship something I'll cherish forever.
