Stephanie McMahon has resigned as CEO and Chairwoman of WWE.
Nick Khan will now serve as the head CEO of the company. As of this writing, Triple H’s job title remains the Chief Content Officer. This means he’s still in charge of creative, live events and talent – for now.
Stephanie McMahon will now be resuming the leave of absence she began last year prior to her father’s retirement from WWE. With her leave of absence, Nick Khan will now assume more of her duties.
It should be noted that there was an employee meeting that was held on January 6 where Stephanie admitted “there’s naturally some animosity.” She also used the word “angst.”
During the pandemic, almost all of Stephanie McMahon’s team was dismantled as massive cuts took place.
Fightful Select is reporting that there are said to be many talents who are confused by the resignation and what it “really” means for both Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan. One talent noted that if Vince McMahon wound up taking over creative, there would be a lot of frustration from the public and the roster. A second source says they are hopeful this means a sale is coming.
