UPDATE x 2: As previously reported here on, WWE has reinstated Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan to their Hall of Fame. He was also backstage at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event. According to sources, Hogan made a formal apology to the WWE locker room prior to Extreme Rules for his comments that were leaked in 2015.

Several people who were backstage at the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event said that during the normal pre-show meetings before pay-per-view’s (and RAW/SmackDown! TV tapings), Hogan apologized to the entire locker-room for embarrassing himself and WWE. Hogan reportedly had a “shaky voice” and told wrestlers to be careful about what they say as they could be recorded without their knowledge. Following his speech to the locker-room, Hogan received a strong reaction, and a number of wrestlers started shaking his hand and hugging him. Hogan was said to have been very emotional during the meeting.

Also, Hogan reportedly met with WWE officials prior to his meeting with the locker room. According to sources, the feeling backstage is that he’s back on board with the company and could be returning at any time now. While Hogan could be at the RAW and SmackDown! Live TV tapings later this week, that is not confirmed. It’s possible they’ll save his return for the SummerSlam pay-per-view event.

Hogan tweeted the following earlier today:
