UPDATE: We reported earlier tonight here on eWn that Roman Reigns has been pulled from his WWE Universal Championship match with Bill Goldberg at WrestleMania 36 due to health concerns regarding his immune system being compromised due to his battle with leukemia.

According to Dave Meltzer, the WrestleMania 36 card is undergoing some changes due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic. He said,

“The WrestleMania card has also changed. Names are being kept confidential because so few know, but it’s been confirmed that multiple people on the card either said they were sick, which meant instantly being pulled off all shows this week, there were others who did not feel sick but had fevers above 100.4, which was the WWE’s cut-off point of not allowing people to work, and others who, on their own, said they didn’t feel comfortable flying in. Both AEW and WWE had told people that if they don’t want to come, they don’t have to come and that the decisions made now won’t be held against them when it comes to future booking.”

Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso reached out to WWE for comment on the Roman Reigns situation but they declined to offer any statement at this time.

WWE WrestleMania 36 will air on Saturday, April 4th and Sunday, April 5th. Many of the matches have already been taped but some have been changed.

ORIGINAL: Roman Reigns and Goldberg were set to face off for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36. However, the coronavirus situation has changed many plans, and now, one of WrestleMania’s marquee matches is being changed.

Roman Reigns has a compromised immune system due to his history with leukemia, and he reportedly refused to make the trip to Orlando to film WrestleMania. Therefore, his match with Goldberg is off.

Roman announced his leukemia returned in November of 2018, forcing him out of action for a few months before returning just before WrestleMania 35. He has been in remission ever since.

Roman will be replaced, although it is uncertain at this time who will take his place. You can view the announcement below:
