One of the more tragic wrestling “what ifs” of all time is “what if Bret Hart hadn’t suffered those late career medical complications?” Hart famously suffered a concussion while in the ring with Goldberg that forced him to the sidelines. The problems compounded when The Hitman suffered a stroke soon after.
Speaking during an appearance for K&S Wrestlefest as part of an autograph session, the Excellence of Execution wondered aloud about that very topic himself. Hart discussed the matches he felt were left on the table due to his injuries. He said,
“If I had no issues with my concussion and stuff like that, and if I never had a stroke, I mean let’s just say I was healthy at my age, I’d go back. I would’ve taken it pretty serious. I would’ve wrestled a lot more over the last 10 years if I hadn’t been hurt. All the dream matches everyone talks about, I would’ve loved to have done all of them. Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, John Cena, Randy Orton.”
