Unless the two sides can reach an agreement on a new deal, Brian Cage is about to become a free agent after signing with AEW in 2020.
Fightful Select reports that Cage’s contract is set to expire in a matter of weeks. It was initially reported to be up last year before All Elite Wrestling picked up his option year.
Cage was surprised at the time AEW picked up the option after not being on TV for months.
The report noted that there have been feelers within WWE that have gauged the company’s interest in bringing Cage in, but it’s unclear if there’s particular interest on either side.
