Brock Lesnar once made it clear he did not want to work with Kevin Owens, Road Dogg Jesse James has claimed.

In 2017, Lesnar captured the Universal Championship from Goldberg, and by Survivor Series, seemed guaranteed to face WWE Champion Jinder Mahal.

That was until a week before the show when Mahal lost the title to AJ Styles, who would lose to Brock at the Premium Live Event.

Speaking on his Oh You Didn’t Know podcast, Road Dogg refuted the idea that Brock didn’t want to face Mahal, but revealed he once objected to a match with Owens.

“It isn’t that he had no intention of wanting to work with Jinder. It’s that he really thought he could have a better match with AJ. So, I just wanted that to be clear. Look, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of Brock saying I’m not working with that guy. Well, I did, I did hear that with Kevin Owens, but only him.”

Owens and Lesnar have faced off, but not on TV, as the two wrestled at a WWE live event inside Madison Square Garden in 2017.

After defeating Styles, Lesnar would continue his winning ways before eventually losing the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2018.
