WWE RAW Superstar Bronson Reed has reflected on his upset victory over Kazuchika Okada in last year’s G1 Climax.

After his release from WWE NXT in 2021, Reed would debut for NJPW in November of that year and would defeat Okada in the G1 Climax tournament in July 2022.

Reed scored eight points in his block, narrowly missing out on a spot in the semi-finals, while Okada would go on to win the entire tournament.

Speaking to “Overnight Crowd,” Reed reflected on his upset win over Okada. He said,

“Being able to get a victory over someone like Okada, who you rarely see lay on his shoulders for three seconds, meant a lot to me, but it also meant a lot to me to be able to come back to WWE with purpose and with a newfound chip on my shoulder.”

Reed returned to WWE last December and helped The Miz defeat Dexter Lumis in a ladder match.

The former NXT North American Champion unsuccessfully challenged for the WWE United States Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber last month.
