Following this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, it appears that Bryan Danielson is turning heel.

During Hangman Page’s “Cowboy S**t” celebration that opened the show, Danielson came out and interrupted a promo that Page was cutting. As many of you know, Danielson is the #1 contender to Page’s AEW World Title.

While Danielson initially shook Page’s hand, he then turned heel (sort of!) and said he was “surprised and disappointed” that he wasn’t going to be facing Kenny Omega. This led to loud boos from the fans in attendance in Norfolk, VA. He then went on to reference his win at WrestleMania, saying,

“When I won the World Championship at WrestleMania, I wrestled the very next day. I wrestled the very next day!” When the crowd once again booed, he clapped back with, “Of course, Virginia boos hard work!”

Page responded to Danielson’s comments by saying it took him less than 30 minutes to beat Omega and said he’d face Danielson right then and there. That’s when Danielson backed off and said he wasn’t going to face him tonight because he didn’t want to give Page an excuse for losing by not being ready on such short notice.

The segment ended in a pull apart brawl, which led into a match between Danielson and Evil Uno. Danielson defeated Uno with a submission and then said he’d take out all of the Dark Order until he got his World Title match with Hangman Page.

With that being said, we’ll see Bryan Danielson vs. Colt Cabana next week on AEW Dynamite.
