Bryan Danielson never won a Royal Rumble match, though many fans believe he should’ve on two occasions.
In 2014, fans erupted with rage when they realized The American Dragon was excluded from the Royal Rumble match. The following year, fans did the same when Danielson was eliminated early. During a live recording of ‘The Sessions with Renee Paquette’ at Starrcast V, Danielson revealed that he even warned WWE about fans disapproving of him being eliminated early during the match. However, WWE wouldn’t change plans despite his warning.
“I knew, and especially because I had just comeback from neck surgery. When they told me what I was doing in the Rumble in 2015 and that I was only going to be in there for four or five minutes, I told them, ‘I think this is a bad idea. This isn’t necessarily great for Roman.’ They kind of ignored that. Then it wasn’t. Stuff happened. That was that. All of that to say, Roman has done such a great job and now he’s the biggest star in wrestling. He’s performed at such a high level for a long time and he’s done such a great job.“
Bryan Danielson last competed in the Royal Rumble in 2021. The American Dragon was considered a favorite to win but ended up being eliminated by Seth Rollins. That year, Edge came out as the victor, and he would wrestle Danielson and Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania in a Triple Threat match.
