The ‘Face of the Revolution’ ladder match a few weeks ago on AEW Dynamite drew a lot of criticism for its finish, which saw multiple referees hold up the ladder to ensure that Powerhouse Hobbs could safely retrieve the brass ring. This followed no intervention from any referee over the previous few minutes, that witnessed stunts and spots infinitely more dangerous than Hobbs simply climbing up the ladder, thus blatantly exposing the gimmick match.
One of the veterans to criticize the proceedings was ladder match legend Bully Ray, who proceeded to hilariously mock this during his match against Tommy Dreamer at Sacrifice last week. He has now taken to Twitter to do so again, which you can see below:
WHAT A WEEKEND!!! 🩸
You guys were right – I was wrong. 🤣
THANK YOU to Referee “whatevah the f**k” your name is for holding the ladder for me and keeping me safe as I risked my life for wrestling fans all over the world. @IMPACTWRESTLING @BustedOpenRadio pic.twitter.com/XHJMz8RA1Q
