Bully Ray Says WWE Should Introduce ‘Iron Man Title’ – Reveals Who Should Win It

WWE and Impact Wrestling Hall of Famer Bully Ray has called on WWE to introduce a new championship that’d be defended every single week.

While the Iron Man term is best synonymous with the Iron Man match, in which wrestlers score points over a fixed time, Bully Ray used the term to describe a workhorse who can consistently perform.

On this week’s “Busted Open Radio”, Bully discussed the idea, saying:

“Maybe they should [get rid of the US and IC Title], but I would love to see them do what I’ve been talkin about for a while now – the Ironhorse, Ironman, Ironwoman Championship – a wrestler that wrestles every single week on RAW and SmackDown. Back in the day when I originally thought of this, I said wrestle on RAW, NXT and SmackDown. Obviously NXT now being a definitive developmental brand, I’ll take NXT out of the equation. I want to see this person wrestle on RAW and SmackDown.”

Bully also suggested possible holders of the theoretical title:

“You know who would be a great workhorse champion? A guy like Ciampa, a guy like Ricochet – a guy that can go out there every single night and have great, great matches on television. Who are you? I’m not the world champion but I’m the best wrestler for any given 15 minutes on television. That’s what the championship represents.”

While WWE has not made any plans for an Iron Man Championship public, it’s reported that the company will be introducing a new World Championship now that the WWE and Universal titles have been unified.
