WWE SmackDown Superstar Butch said he consoled Ridge Holland after Big E broke his neck earlier this year.

In March, Big E suffered a broken neck following a belly-to-belly suplex by Holland outside of the ring and the former WWE Champion hasn’t appeared since.

That same episode saw Butch (formerly Pete Dunne) make his debut on SmackDown, aligning himself with Holland and Sheamus.

Speaking to Metro, Butch discussed the initial moment of the injury and how concerned he was for both men:

“Obviously things are moving fast, but I honestly thought, ‘It looked rough but I think he’s OK.’ So for me it was about reassuring Ridge. He’s still fairly new to wrestling.

“I’ve been in the ring where a lot of things have gone wrong, whereas for him this is completely new. Even for him, I don’t think anyone realized the severity of it until he got to the hospital and then we got that news which was just awful.”

Butch said that had either man been slightly off place, things could have been “ten times worse somehow.”

Big E has clarified that he will not require neck surgery and has been in high spirits since the injury.

We at eWn are continuing to send our best to the former WWE Champion on his road to recovery.
