WWE Superstar Chad Gable has praised AEW wrestler Bryan Danielson for giving smaller wrestlers the opportunity to succeed in Vince McMahon’s promotion.
Debuting in 2010, Danielson became a five-time WWE World Champion and was one of the company’s most popular stars before his departure in 2021.
While speaking on Table For 3, Gable said it was Danielson who paved the way for smaller wrestlers:
“Thankfully enough, amateur wrestling just opened the doors and brought me to where I was. There were scouts at the Olympics from WWE. They happened to be looking for amateur athletes, and Daniel Bryan at the time had opened a lot of doors for smaller guys and people my size, and so the stars just aligned. After the Olympics, I made the journey here.”
